when i get in the water about 20 min of being in my acid starts to come up has anyone eles had this problem and if not do you know why i am is it just me or what. and does anyone have any ideas to stop it i have taken tums and stuff like that and it dont work while i am in the water

I leave a 2 hour window between eating and diving if possible. Eat celery before diving, maybe keep some on your float- best natural antacid and works instantly!

I have acid reflux disease, and the best over the counter acid reducer that I've found is Zantac 150. Take one or two an hour before diving. If your reflux is really bad you should get it looked at by a doc. It can cause cancer of the esophagus if untreated. I just had this done and was given prescription medicine, it works wonders.

i didnt know that celery was an aint acid i guess i learn something new everyday and i will also have to ask the doc tomorrow when i go for my check up and see what he says that would be a bad deal

I used to have this real bad, but it was from an addiction to painkillers. My doctor put me on prilosec or whatever, and fixed me right up, I no longer have those problems. On the other hand, I cant ever take painkillers anymore either.

Anything with Ranatidine in will do Zantac 150 uses it. Ask at your local drug store and put an end to your grief

my doc has got me on mes for my acid take as needed or take one day before i go diving and they work real good

i have some drops i bought in the organic shop, its says O2 on the front and you put a few drops in your bottled water and drink it, its tasteless and apparently its an alkaliser and reduces acid build up. dont know if its b0llocks or not but certainly do notice less acid build up. its on my desk at work, i will give you the name of it tomorrow.

What do you eat in the lead up to your dives and when, that may give a clue. Also do you drink alcohol the night before?

For me it might have been the at least 16 (200mg) capsules of ibuprofen I was taking a day.

They must be pretty tasty. I get that with Pringles, one pop and you can't stop.

I suppose the added benefit of Ibuprofen is that if you bang your head it wouldn't hurt.

This was for football, so you hit it right on the head. It was a year when I tweaked my rotater, sprained both of my ankles, and had two concussions. This was a 7 game season. One concussion I woke up, and they said, whats going on, all I said was "I cant feel my lips." Lol, later I thought to myself, "Do I EVER, feel my lips?" lol it was funny.

"I cant feel my lips."

I have just been doing some technical experiments in the interest of furthering freediving and after a pack of Original Pringles I can't feel my lips either!!!

I'm off to check the contents and get published. ;-)

Ok, its called Oxy Pure made by Optimal
Description: a highly alkaline formula that aids in oxygen utilization and pH balance.

Morning...

I found myself in a push pull situation with a acid stomach problem. If it's persistant find the cause. The pills are only a temparary solution. Yes even tums. I would take an antacid to cure the pain but the problem just kept getting worse. In my case it turned out to be the beer. I laid off for a while and everything went bact to normal.

Wow, I never even thought about that part of it.... friday:blackeye

IBP - Are you kidding me
