Oh by the way, you can edit the title of the thread. You just double click under the text. Thats from the main page where you see the total number of replies and views from.

Umm strange... I just tested it out and it didn't work :(. I knew about that form another forum that uses the same software I believe...

Here is a pic of what it looks like... But you just have to double click the blank space right beside the title.

Incredible. I saw the Life of Birds, which is the series that clip came from.

I have seen many talking parrots, and other birds imitating sounds. The most unusual one was in a pet shop I used to go to often. Someone had gone on holiday and left their two pet birds in the shop. They were a parakeet and a canary, in the same cage. I heard a canary singing, but when I looked round, I saw that it was the parakeet. It had not only learnt the song, but also the other sounds of the canary. I didn't hear it making a single normal parakeet sound. It was a perfect imitation - I would never have guessed it wasn't a canary.

The canary didn't make a sound when I was there - maybe its friend had taken over the job of singing.

Friends of my parents had 2 cockatiels and they often copied the songs the owner whistled, such as row youre boat. They also repeated some of the profanity the owner use to often say. So one day, the owner walked in his home to find one of birds was dead and the other one was perched over him saying 'f**k you, f**k you'.

You really got to be cafefull of what you say around those things.

I have a common green budgie, and he is always listening for new, odd noises that he can copy. His vocabulary also includes many words and phrases, such as 'hey bird', 'oh dear bird', my name, my sisters' names, and any variation of the phrase 'birdy bird'. The strange thing is that he calls us by name.

BTW, that's not quite exact :) I just screwed a title too (of another thread of course) and edited it myself. I admit, it was little bit cumbersome, but not too bad. So just for the records and the archive:
  1. Click Edit at the post, change to advanced mode - you can change the title / subject above the post first (it won't change the thread title though, but you want to fix it there certainly too)
  2. In the thread view, click Move / Copy Thread in the Thread Tools drop-down menu, edit the title and move it to another folder without letting a link (first selection Move to destination forum).
  3. Since it won't let you renaming the thread in the same folder, you have to really move it to another forum, and then repeat the operation, moving it back to the original location.
Normally it is rather quick, but currently there seem to be some problem with the forum (or maybe just on my side) and it hangs for about 10 minutes after each page load, before the status bar clears and the drop-down menus become active. I hope it just a temporary problem though.

I'm a little disappointed in Sand's lackluster response. I would've hoped to have read a response using the following bird-related words:

Booby, cock, swallow, sap-sucker, etc...
