Addiction counsellor that is a fanatical freediver. Classic. I am a machinist, I make airplane parts. I'd rather be a lottery winner, but what can you do. take it easy

Financial support: Savings and stock holdings from my previous career as an Electrical Engineer. After 3 years of not working its running low...

Oh, and averaging 500 bucks a year from writing magazine articles... :)

I own a custom home building company, but even though I am still young (IMHO  ) I am now semi retired.

I only build spec homes and make the decision to accept a client only after I meet him/her to discuss his/her needs and wants and to see if we are the right fit for each other (basically I am interviewing the potential client to see if they will be easy to deal with).

:)

Here are some 3D autoCAD drawings on one of my recent homes. I am very proud to say that virtually no other architect/builder offers 3D mock ups of the homes they offer.

The last two are pics of the plans for this particular home.

I do business development for an international organisation working in the field of environmental protection... damn, I never manage to put it in a catchy way! No wonder, i dont use it as a pick up line...

I'm working as a freelance microsoft and webservices consultant. Pretty good and fun work to do and it leaves room for family and sport.

running a fireplace and stove business with a partner but hope as the busines grows to do something outside during the quieter summer months we also sell som bbqs which is handy as I always bring one to the dive site weather permitting and I have the one of the vans for the dive gear getting changed etc

After the adventurous years as a bar tender (in those chic and elegant night time bars with only one toilet for ladies and gents) I found my way as a journalist in 1992. Presently I'm a senior editor in a daily newspaper. But I still support bar tenders as "my people".

Getting my PhD in Aerospace Engineering with a graduate research assistantship. When I don't have my head in the water I have it in the clouds :D

Those mock ups are really neat!

Thanks Merlin!

They look good with the roofs on them to. I would show you a few really great ones, but the 50MB limit on photo attachment size precludes me from doing so.

I have a moving 3D tour of that model where autoCAD let me place a virtual camera 5 feet above the finished floor, and send it all throughout the virtual 3D home. Awsome stuff, but it represents about 3GB of info.

Here are some successive screen shots of the 3D development of the front reception area I did for a 2000 square foot interior buildout. It is a friend of mine's new Allstate Insurance office. I don't prefer commercial work, but I designed and built his custom home a couple of years ago and we have become friends, so I told him I would do this for him (and it's easy, easy work).

I just wish I could post so much more!!!

Jim

:)

Pic 1: A page of my building plans I designed for the Allstate office.

Pic 2: The 3D image for the office. I can grab and rotate the drawing any way I want, so I can look straight down into it or in though the front door.

Pic 3: A close up of the plan's reception area and counter that you will see in the following 3D images.

Pic 4: A 50% complete 3D interior view of the reception area.

Pic 5: A 90% complete 3D interior view of the reception area.
