What does the "HF" stand for????

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Just got a pair of Cressi 2000 HF fins for my girlfriend. She has asked me what the HF suffix stands for but I have no idea.

I'd been thinking along the lines of "high frequency" but it does not seem to tally with the "Long Distance" of the LD series.

So what does HF stand for?????

Pretty sure HF: high frequency meaning it will be a soft fin and LD: Long Distance meaning a harder fin.
 
HD = High Density? (aka harder plastic)
LD = Low Density? (aka softer plastic)

Just a guess.
 
LD are soft. When you think about it if you were thinking of swimming around all day (long distances) you would need a SOFTER fin.

HF are harder. I own a pair of both.

If you go to the Cressi site there is a write up that describes LD as softer.

You know what....I don't think it stands for anything. Because there are the Gara 3000 LD and the Gara 2000 HF and they are both soft fins...that and I just remembered that you can get both of those models in different softness's.

Gara 3000 come in different hardnesses, yes. But they're named slightly different.

Gara 3000 LD = Soft

Gara 3000 (HF) = Medium

Gara Pro = Hard
 
Hmmm maybe your right, half right.
Gara 3000 LD: Soft
Gara 3000 HF: Medium (got a pair )
Gara 3000: Not sure if it has a name but has red instead of grey bits and is hard plastic. To be honest cressi and there fins hardness and models have always confused me.
 
2000 were available in 3 models;

2000hf: dark blade hf branding bloody stiff fin.
2000ld: grey blade ld branding soft fin
2000 tuna: blue blade soft blade

3000's:

3000: black blade medium stiffness
3000LD: soft blade
3000???: with red graphics? have never seen a pair so cant comment.

Gara professional:?

only one modelwith compoflex blade personally quite stiff.

Question for Apneaboy on both your Cressi's, which do you prefer?
I have the opportunity to buy either for a very reasonable price and am wondering which to go for. It'll be the first pair I'm buying for myself, though I wouldn't consider myself a beginer.
What do ya think?
