Hello every1 :t

am dying to know what fins these are, posting link to the wid

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGTk-zsyb1Y]YouTube - stephane mifsud spearfishing 36 m 120 feet[/ame]

it says cressi sub on them but cant find anything on google images or on cressi web sight. seen them on another pic here on DB cant remember where thu.

Plz any1 what are they?

There is already an older thread where exactly the same question was asked. You may be able finding it in the archive. Mifsud uses fins from Immersion - quite long and soft, and he just has a sticker of Cressi on it (sponsor).

Indeed Cressi doesn't make any carbon fins: only polymere. Sponsored athletes put a sticker on carbon blades when they use carbon (Pelizzari does that too).

Trux, by the way:
I'm told that Mifsud has put his signature on a new model of carbon blades (the Imersion Spirit they should be named). Any feedback from your French pals?
I'm looking to buy a set of carbon blades, and these "Spirit" ones are so freakin' expensive that one may wonder what's so special in them?!
Palmes apnée : PALMES IMERSION FREEDIVING SPIRIT - Nootica.fr
Cool but pricey to say the least.

Spago, try this store:
chasse-sous-marine.net
Much cheaper and the owner is excellent - perfect customer service and fast shipping (at least in France).

There are couple of posts about the fins on French forums, I am going to browse through them and let you know if there is anything interesting.

i have just ordered spetton c4 falcon 80´s, do anyone know how these imerson fins are for week legged ppl in comparison to the c4 80´s?

BTW, I think Mifsud's fins are not the same as the ones he signed. I believe his are longer and softer, than the ones Imersion sells. I may be wrong though - you may try asking Stéphane's team colleague Francine Kreiss - she will know better. Or ask directly Stéphane.

Thx for the input :) those in the vid dident seems to look like the imerson´s, might try checking with them about that.

In fact, AFAIK, Mifsud's own fins as well as those sold under the Imersion brand are in fact fins (or at least blades) manufactured by Breier. Stéphane had custom made blades which reflect better his slow quiet swimming style.

Each of the fins has pro's and con's, and it very much depends on many factors, including the type of use (competition, spearfishing, dynamics, constant weight,...) your kicking style and body size, as well as on the available budget, personal preferences, etc. So do not expect someone telling you this and this fin is the best. You better have a look at least at the chart at the bottom of the page, showing different parameters and prices side by side - that can give you little bit more idea. In the conclusion they seem to liked the Omer Rekords, as a good balance, but again: for each individual it may differ quite a lot, so you better read closer, or make some tests alone before choosing.

Thanks I have heard great things about the Omer Rekords! I can't imagine them being that much better than my Dive R's though.

going from Fibreglass to carbon blades you will find a very noticable difference, particularlywhen looking at higher end carbon blades e.g Rekord 3, Mtechniks, C4 all of these fins are much nicer to use in the water compared to the fibreglass DiveR blades, its just the nature of the material and the improved response. Rekord 3 are nice but are a little on the stiff side for some, mind you i know alot of divers here in aus that sware by the rekords and will never change fins.

i sold my DiveR's finally after coming to the realisation that the hype surrounding them is just that nothing else, there are MANY other fibrefins on the market which are as good if not better and the current leading companies in Carbon blades are producing fins which are in another league all together.

of course only my 2c worth so dont worry about my ramblings too much.
