I'm making a dive rig out of an old body board. What flag do I need on it for UK waters? Most of the commercially available buoys seem to come with a red and white flag but I note that the BSA requires a blue and white for competitions. Is there a legal requirement, stemming from where, boating navigation?

Cheers

Jez

The blue and white flag (A flag) in the accepted norm in british waters, quite why we chose to be different to the rest of the world beats me but there you go! Silly thing is that most bouys available in the UK that come with a flag have the international red and white one The only ones I have seen in the local chandlers or dive shops are 3' square! and cloth, does anyone sell nice little dinky ones that fit onto a Omer type bouy?
