I've just purchase a pair of c4 blades c30, now I am checking scubastore for what foot pocket to get SPETTON or BEUCHAT. Does any one have any input on what foot foot pocket to pick ?

are you sure that they are compatible with the blade? i would go for sporasubs if you could get your hands on a pair...i have heard some good reviews of beuchat (though not with these blades)

I don't know if they are compatible, main reason I am asking. I guess you are not familiar with any of the foot pockets, based on the pictures they look like the omer, I am pretty sure the omer fits these blades.

Sure c4 blades are commonly sold with Omer footpockets over here as they have a good fit together. Sorry I can't help with spetton and beuchat: unknown objects for me.

I have C4 Flaps in Beuchat pockets, but there was quite a bit of work involved in it. It is definitely much easier with Omer, Dessault or Sporasub pockets.

I've owned a few pairs of C4's and have had Sporasub, Spetton and OMER pockets on them. They all worked fine, but I have no idea about the Beauchat's?

The sizing on the Spetton pockets that I had were a little bit off from my OMER and Sporasub pockets- they were a little bit bigger. This worked out fine for winter diving, with thicker socks, but not as well for summer when I like to use thinner socks.

Jon many thanks for the information, let me bug you a little more.

Besides the strange size on the spetton, is the instalation straight forward how good is the foot pocket ?
I have to say I don't like pockets like the cressi or esclapez, they are too soft on the bottom.

All of the ones I mentioned are pretty much the same. They have, close to, the same rails and the same screw hole patterns on them. The Omer's and sporasub's that I had were a 42-44 size foot pocket. With the sporasubs I can only wear a 3mm but the Omers allow for a 5mm. The Spettons came in something like a 43-45 and I could get a 6mm sock in there with a little room to spare.

The older style Omer footpockets were really stiff across the forefoot- at least my old ones were. The newer ones have some sort of reformulated rubber that's softer across the top. All three had stiffer soles than the Cressi's or Ezclapez pockets that I have owned/used.

I glue and screw my blades into the footpockets. It might be overkill but I don't like to have things fail on me in the middle of a day of diving. I have found that 3M 5200 Marine sealant works better than Aquaseal for gluing in blades- I've had them come both ways.

Thanks again

If the omer pockets were a little be cheaper would not be an issue, I would get them, but they are 100 each while the spetton are 60 on scubastore.

Thanks again.
