Gday I'm new to Europe(from N Qld Australia) living near Stuttgart and have a few questions about the Med.
I have read alot about the rules and reg. so thats all good

What size Guns do you guys tend to use?
I have a couple at home but don't think i will bring all 3 back with me.
Palaj Kanji 1.4
Omer 1.1
And my home made woody 1.15 (seen alot of fish that one)

2nd question is it possible to dive from the shore in Italy or Crotia?
Is it better to rent a boat($$)?

I am heading home for 3 weeks so i will get some spearing in for sure.
I have been dry for over a year now:head
I will post some pics if I am lucky.

Thanks for you help.

If your diving in the clear (lol) waters of QLD you're in for a bit of a shock in croatia, clear water 20m+ viz

you can rock hop in croatia, but as with most diving boat based is better

In saying that tho, hope you can dive deep (20m+) for bream sized fish :)

Thanks for that Mate. Brought me a new torrelli 1.15 hope this will be ok.
Driving to Rovinj for a couple of days to check out what the water is like.
If anyone has any tips or spots to check out or stay clear of please let me know.
no spearfishing at home but did some snorking on the reef, some bloody nice sweet lip out there.

Hi Barramundi
Northern Adriatic is not so clear , visibility is under 10 , somethimes even 3 meters.Sometimes is possible to catch fine seabasses. You would be luckier if you drive more on the south , like Zadar ,Šibenik, nice catch isnt so hard to get if you are experienced. If you attend to go further south , everything between Split and Dubrovnik is OK, especially Dubrovnik area , with its islands.Just be aware , that you must have fishing licence, buoy, the Police have no mercy.Same is with a boat , you have to be licensed in particulary vessel category.
As for the gun , I think that one 100 cm long , powered with two 16 or 17,5 would be enough.
