What gun should I get?

Okay guys heres my situation.

I would be hunting in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The water is not extremely clear but visibility is decent.

I was wondering what gun i should get. I would mostly be going for flounder, but i want enough power to get the occasional striper that come by.

Any help appreciated.
 
So I take it most of your hunting will be reef based. A 900 RA or Rabitech should do the job better than good but I dont know what you want to spend. Also lost of guys swear by the omer guns so that mite be worth a look for your area
 
Any euro gun in length 90cm or 100cm, with a reel on. Among the ones available in american stores, I suggest the Omer T20 or the Omer Cayman allu: good quality/price ratio, strong and durable, handy and maneuverable.
 
Most Euro guns will do, min 90cm length and get a reel in case you hit a decent striper!! Omer, Cressi, Sporasub to name but a few, not sure which ones are cheaper over in America!!! Try seeing if there is a club in your area or advertise for a buddy in your area, you will learn much more quickly this way. Good luck!

A reel is almost necessary for any fish bigger than 3kilograms. You have cheap but good options: if you buy an Omer gun, get the Omer Match 30 reel, or an Instinct reel if you buy a Sporasub gun. They do the job and definitely won't cost you a fortune.
 
also take a look at the riffe euro series in 90 or 100 length , lots of members swear by their performance. it should be cheaper in the states as it is a US gun (omer (italian made) prices are almost double in the states, so are the rabitechs (south african))...
 
what a gun indeed, i have 2; a 120 apex carbon and a 110 stealth carbon
 
Now your talkin, I also have 2 a 110 Apex and a 750 that I cant remember the model name of. Both in ali barrels though for the sole reason that mine take quite a beating. The 110 has a rail with single 20mm rubbers and shoots a dream even on big fish and the 750 no fansies for mucking around in rocky trenches and close range hunting in under 5m depth. But hey Im getting off topic again lol

i just got the rabitech stealth carbon 115......cant wait to use it...its got 2 x 16mm rubbers, last gun i had was omer excaliber 2000 90cm....
damn water must start behaving now!!
