My daughter has been chatting a bit with a freediver from another country. She mentioned it to me and heres what I told her.

'In general freedivers are going to be relatively intelligent and disciplined. The fact that they have a passion which has nothing to do with anybody else and requires them to be healthy and focused makes them less likely to be perverts or pathologically insecure. Also people from other countries generally have broader, more well-informed perspectives and are better educated than Americans.'

My daughter is allready tactfully ruthless with idiots - so I was just giving her a general idea.

Ahh, fun to contemplate.

Having known a wide variety of spearos, especially since I are one, I think you may be being a little too complementary. For pure freedivers, not that I have met any outside of DB, sounds about right.

Having traveled and lived in Asia, Europe, Middle East, Australia etc ... I can safely say that some Americans would win in any self-deprecating competition and for no good reason.

Lol. We're crap.

I think it'd be a kick to have her write an article about the BC trip...

I'll let her know brianna :)

Personally, I think there is plenty of idiots in every country and culture. No need to look across the atlantic for them...:)

Just a quick peek around me, or in the mirror, will do...

Hey FondueSet

What happens if she brings a Spearo home on day. :naughty :naughty

Or even worse a Bubble Blower !!! :martial :martial

I hope the Shottie is primed with a few good rounds of Salt shot to send em on their way

I agree with Jome.
I think you over-estimated humanity thinking idiocity is more abundant in America. :)

Well I've had many american friends, and what I appreciated the most is that in general they have a strong sense of friendship (that's pretty important from friends...). Maybe I was just lucky. But there are many kinds of intelligence, and the one I prefer is the kind of intelligence that you express in human feelings and in mutual understanding.
Spearos? They smell of fish and are often "switched-off" from hypoxia. But I would be happy if my daughter married a spearo: I grow old and i will need someone to watch me from above.

In my mind Americans in general are very nice people, you have your deep south swamp dwellers who eat anything and shag it also :naughty , so do the French. You have your arrogant New yorkers who think they are the buisness and without them the world will fall apart:martial , so do the Engish:martial . You have the simple living Idaho people who live for home cooking and relegion:) , so do the Italians:chatup , You have californians who dont give a sh*t about anything and have the best beaches and babes:friday , now thats got to be the spanish also:friday . then you have the mountain folk who dont think twice about hot tubbin with the neighbours:inlove , niether do the scandinavians:inlove , so in a nutshell Americans are Europeans just they learnt a different language.

Remember, it takes elections to have a majority of idiots. :p
(not aimed specifically at any country)
No, that's aimed to Italy rofl But we're having new elections in april, and I hope that idiots became a minority after 5 years of idiot-power :head (now you all now I don't like mister B.). Sorry for going O.T.

I heard somewhere that only 5% of US citizens have passports, and of them only 1% use them. I wonder if this is true? Goes a long way to explain why American tourists drive me nuts yet non tourist Americans (eg living abroad here in London or visiting friends) I find just as nice as any other nationalities.

They just don't need them.
No matter where they want to spend their holidays, may it be a tropical island, holidays in the mountains or skiing on glaciers. In no case whould they need to leave the country.
Travel 1000 miles in Europe and you will cross several countries.
Sommer holidays in spain, skiiing in Austria, ... There is literaly one contry for each type of holidays :D

And if the do need another country they invade it LOL.:) :) :) :)

I just started picking up and dropping off my son at school - because the bus driver went bad on us. The situation in the school parking lot is such that I keep my riffe in the passenger seat. Nothing quite like the sound of 9/32 spring steel punching through the fender of an SUV (barb removed, of course) 'Move over BITCH, I'm the center of the freakin universe; not you!' Have you ever noticed you can do damn near anything to people when they are on their cell phones?

I don't claim a corner on the market , but we're sure up there. And europeans are definitely better educated.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
