One thing I used to do back in my freediving days was take the deepest breath I could, then force more air in by repeatedly filling my cheeks with air and sort of forcing it down. Afterwards I had to swim down immediately; if I stayed at the surface (or on land) it was painful.
Is that what packing is? Or is it something else?
