i-m probably a little off topic here but i have this litlle curiosity:
what is the best fish to eat in your opinnion?

In my opinion its very difficult to beat fresh mackrel fried with coarse black pepper, and although diffrent to mackrel , bass is equal on my list cooked in the same way nice and simple.

I would have to say.

Freshwater: Perch - Battered in 'shore lunch' and fried in olive oil

Salt: Hogfish - Prepared: doesn't matter good anyway you make it- one of the best tasting fish I've ever had.

I would have say that fresh caught yellow fin tuna from the Cape Verdi Islands was the most enjoyable fish I ever ate but smoked mackerel is my long term favourite.

Fresh red mullet for me but the grey mullet I had courtesy of Foxfish last year comes a close second (the secret is in the preparation :) )

Wahoo. The Hawaiins use the same word for the fish as they use for 'good' and what the Hawaiins don't know about eating fish probably isn't important anyway.
Now if you don't cook the fish, a big Skipjack (Aku, Otaru) that is bled and brined quickly and stored covered in the 'fridge 'til the next day is hard to beat. IMHO

NO!?!?!?! What are you talking about!!!!!! Lol...

Hmm, depends a lot on the method for which you are preparing the fish;

for example:

Barbecued : grouper fillet, or local river trout
Grilled: Kingfish macquerel (spanish mackerel) steaks
Deep fried: red snapper or grouper fillet (dipped in mixture of egg, flour, milk and bread crumbs)
Smoked: Fresh Scottish or Alaskan salmon

Flatfish fillets for me. Small plaice fillets flash fried so they've got crispy skin one side and soft white fleshy flakes on the other. Similarly treated mackerel is my second choice.

WOW different strokes for different folks...but I think perhaps the top 10 will average out as they have mostly all been mentioned....here are my Miami picks

Hogfish
Flounder
Trigger
Mojarra
YellowJack
Cobia
Wahoo
Does Lobster count:t

Quite a few over the pond mentioned Mackeral would that be Spanish or King...both of which are delciouso btw!

i like to eat:
dorada
mullet
turbot
makrell

i guess lobster don-t count for he ies not a fish :p

sushi and sashimi: white tuna meat and octopus
