Hi there,

I will be coming to dubai in the next month, perhaps even as soon as next week and would like to know if it's worth taking my spearfishing gear along with me?
Is the diving good at this time of year and if yes are there any clubs or keen spearo's planning to go out?

Cheers,
Paul

Hello and welcome on DB... As you know once hot weather started fish will be at deep and shore dives will be very tough and hot!!! you will have to be able to spearfish at 17 meters + to be able to get a good fish... I will pass my phone number in your pm if you would need anything once you come... All best

well...i never been diving in Dubai, made couple of dives in Fujirah ( wasn't impressed at all)..
and recently I started going to east coast around the mUsandam Island...lovelly places, great marin life...lovelly views, awesome dive sites...lots of spearing...lubsters, just name it..
i pretty much go everyweek nowadays as the season is coming to an end and I am trying to take the most of it...
u should certainly bring yoru spear with you, but need to tell you..the places we go to are normally known only by the locals there..you can find them on the maps..or on dive sites or clubs:)

drop me a line if interested...

Thanks for the info. I will be in dubai from this thursday until monday and am really keen to go out for a dive. Do you dive from a boat or from the shore?
I was told that getting through customs was a problem to bring my speargun with me?
If it's no problem, what the vis like, have only my RA130 and RA140 here.
Another supper important question is do I need a 3mm or 5mm or no wetsuit...
My email is paul.de.clercq@gmail.com
Cheers,
Paul

Have packed it. I have everything except my guns and weights. I was told bringing these could get me into trouble with the customs.
Do I need to bring a floatline?this will only be needed if I am using a gun without a reel an shooting big fish.
Chat soon, I'll call you on thursday.
Cheers Paul.

Most welcome buddy :D

Starving for a Trip hope to arrange something soon since my friends boat get problem in the engine and waiting the repair otherwise we will do some shore dives... Regrading the gun we can share my gun if i will not be able to arrange another one but we hope that the sea will be fine...

Khor Najd what your recommended brother is great one since places there as you mentioned has got nice Vis... But as i know most of the places there are reserved places am i right or there are some other options? The most near place i dived before to your location i think Dibba Port...

I would appreciate if we share the spot you mentioned...

Always great to meet another spearfishng buddy, look forward to having a dive. If your feiends boat is out I could rent one for the day, if we can arrange a reliable captain:) I will maybe try and bring my rob Allen 130cm gun with me, how is the vis? 5m or 10+.
Looking forward to the dive(s)!
