I'm thinking of camouflaging my good old gara 3000 (I'm sure it would dramatically improve my hunting performance :duh - anyway at least it will look cool

so the question is - what paint should I use to avoid any chemical damage to the fins?

I'd be willing to do it just for fun. All we need now is someone who knows about paint to jump into this thread.

Maybe there are some permanent stains or inks that would work best since actual paints would most likely not adhere to the fins and crack or peel off.

Let's all do this and then post our results via photos back to this thread!!!

I wonder how omer makes their mimetic masks and snorkels etc :) should be a good method for plastic fins as well.

unfortunately I can't read italian + you have to register

Ok it is too much for me to translate compleatly, but they use a primer (because some colors do not look the same or are too dark) before standard acrilc spray or hoby colors + after a transparent finish for durabilty. They do not care so much for the blades. All sugestions goes for scrathing the surface of the blade before primer or "better catching".

Ok maybe my old motocross days can help a bit here. to paint the plastic parts (flexible) the guys used to take off the thin gloss film, rough up the surface and use a Flexible plastic base primer, then paint on the graphics(your case DP) Disruptive patern) also using a flexible paint with adhesive properties(ask at the local car body shop, they paint plastic bumpers), i only rember that the coats have to be very thin to stay flexible.
or just buy mimetec tape and stick that on them.

Thanks! Good idea about the garage, I might just enquire at a garage if they can do it for me, if it isn't too expensive :D

go to look airbrush pages you will find many good paints and information
paint is not a problem only the coat
