Hey All,

Ordered a pair of Sporasub H. Dessault Size 38 fins from a seller on E-Bay last week. According to the US Postal Service, they were delivered to my office a couple days ago. I've been checking the mail room ever since, but the mail room claims no packages have been delivered for me. Where, oh where, are my fins????? Hopefully not on someone else's feet!!!

My excitement and anticipation has now turned into a bit of anxiety. Will I ever see my fins? The seller released them to the shipper (USPS). The USPS has supposedly released them to my office. However, my office says they don't exist.

Been in a bit of a blue funk lately, so I thought I would take this opportunity to invite you all for a hypothetical round of e-drinks right here at the DB Bar... where everybody may not know your name, but where a great deal of cheer flows anyway...

To all of you with stuff expected in the mail... may the good postal fairygodmothers guard your packages until they reach your hands.

Sorry for your misfortune, but ... welcome to the club!
I had a different experience but I stopped buying from Ebay after a supposedly "new" Sony camcorder arrived with a defective battery that didn't hold charge. The vendor refused to replace it alleging that since batteries don't have serial numbers, they can not be guaranteed. Sony was willing to replace it IF I could provide an invoice, but the vendor also refused to produce one, alleging that the receipt from PayPal was my invoice. Sony didn't accept that receipt. So I had to buy a new $75.00 battery. Ebay took the side of the vendor, which was one of its "power sellers". So I was left with no recourse. And when I left a sober negative feedback explaining what had happened, the vendor retaliated labeling me a "scam artist"!. It was quite an experience, but enough for me to stay away forever. I hope your fins will
show up soon Maytag :)

the answer is easy file a insurance claim with UPS. the said you got them right?

Josedescure -- Wow, that's one BAD experience you had. I'm sorry to hear your story. I've come to believe that E-bay reputation really doesn't mean much anymore, unfortunately. I think in my case, it's just bad luck. The seller did ship it off, so I understand there's little he can do once it's in the postal system. Perhaps the US mail system screwed up the tracking and lost the package, or there is foul play in the office building. Thanks for commiserating. Eesh... Many cheers and e-beers to you to make up for that royal annoyance. :friday

Land Shark - wish I'd tacked on insurance. Unfortunately, the package was shipped via USPS, not UPS. Thanks for the advice and reminder for the future, though. All the times I buy insurance, nothing happens. The one time I don't...

Man. I'd really gotten a deal on them... $72 including shipping. They were "new." Other places on the web were selling them for around $119, not including shipping. <sigh>

Thanks for listening. My family and friends don't really understand the big deal is - they're "just plastic fins" which, if they don't turn up, I can apparently get if only I tried Sports Authority...

Where is my fin?

Lost it on the surface on Thursday and it sunk off into the blue rofl rofl

Sorry to hear about that Jeannette. I have always been dubious about Ebay although it seems like loads of peeps on DB have had successful transactions.

Did the seller give you a UPS tracking number?

Have you tried this website?

Hey Island_Sands,
LOL rofl I did get a tracking number, but it says the package was already delivered to my office. I have had good experiences on Ebay - just got a good deal on an electric violin and carbon fiber bow not too long ago that plays like a dream. However, the seller was also a Chicagoan, so we arranged a drop-off and bypassed the mail.

Thanks for the link to DiveInn - I did look there but the shipping from Spain was kind of steep. But then again, I may have just lost $72!!!

Maybe I should try unassisted and bypass the fins altogether :head

Anyway, cheers to you, Diving Diva! I wish I were in Dubai, too. You are good for Dubai tourism.

Hi All,

Just to close the loop, my fins finally arrived!!! That said, the poor things look like they traveled the world and through a couple wars to get here (meaning, I'm not sure they are "new"). Most importantly, though, THEY FIT :girlie ! I feel like Cinderella and the glass (rubber? plastic?) slipper (fins?).... minus the ball gown (wetsuit) and the prince charming (prince charming)....

Cheers and thanks for listening, Maytag

I'll buy a round on that outcome!

To Huck Fin and all his brothers and sisters! :friday
