Hi,

ive been looking at getting a new wetsuit and seeing where they are made.

the Omer suit had a tag saying made in China, but the picasso suit i looked at didn't have a tag showing where it was made, and the guy at the shop didn't know either.

does anyone know where they are made? china?

AFAIK they are still made in Spain, well maybe the higher end stuff is and the cheaper stuff is outsourced?

I'm pretty sure they are made in the far east, probably China as are 99.999% of wetsuits these days. Pretty much the only people still making suits in Europe are the small custom specialists like Elios, Topsub or Marea. For anyone selling any volume of standard size suits it is cheaper to buy in complete suits than it is to buy the neoprene to make them! Also the quality of workmanship available from China has improved vastly in the last ten years. I can think of a number of brands whose quality improved when they outsourced production!

Picasso is outsourced to some country but the big guy who sells it is still in Spain. I've heard some nice stories about picasso from a reliable source, and after hearing that I bought an elios suit, the best there is.

Jorg. Here in NZ people are starting to look at alternative suits made elsewhere.

I've just ordered a LJ from Elios and so far its well made. Time will tell.
