I don't know who made that fin and its hard to tell by looking! (very pretty though) Best would be to contact the owner. I have a hyperfin from the address bite ya posted and I love it. There are a number of people making them - hyperfins is the most famous company but there are a number of others that are not as well known and also make excellent fins.

Not completely sure but that fin looks like a leaderfins Hyper Proffessional (mainly because of the shape of the orange neoprene on the footpockets) however the lamination technique on that blade is different to most fins i have seen, doesnt look like there are any strengthening ribs running from the foot pockets to the tip of the blade like most other brands? very straight laminations i wonder how it goes in the water. come to think of it it may be a Andromov... but not sure. its a couple of danish guys (danish writing on the board behind them at least) so maybe contacting some of the danish members will yield some more accurate results.

It's from hyperfins.ru - best way to get hold of one would be to contact one of the Russians. Natalia Molchanova or Natalia Avseenko might be able to help you out. To be honest though, it's a bit of a lottery buying from those guys. The quality of the blades varies quite a bit while footpocket sizing can be wildly unpredictable, even when you provide measurements.

I heard that the danish ordered for several persons. The best part of the story is that they had a guy (Stig?) picking them up in Russia:) I don`t think they send the fins by mail. Elisabeth picked hers up in a competition. I`ve heard this from someone who was told by someone else so I don`t know how much of this is true:) I`m going for Triton now.

You can see how it goes here:

Mullins, what do you think of putting all that power in the upwardstroke?

I strongly advise you to not buy from Hyperfins. I haven't heard of ANYONE getting a fin with foot pockets that fitted them. Mine were 3-4 sizes too big, and I can't even sell it as it doesn't fit anyone...
If you are after fins for the pool then the new Waterway Glides that Bogdan are making are the best I have used so far.

I guess that is a 25mtr pool? If it is and with only 4 strokes per length i guess that putting that much power in the upstroke works perfectly.

What a great performance and nice video clip to watch..!!!

I was told I'd go straight to hell if I bent my knees that much. 'knee bending is absolutely forbidden!' .. Guess I better relax on that count. I'll amping the backstroke a little - looks interesting.

My Triton Hyperfin was ordered based on my foot size, height, weight and type of diving. A soft blade was recommended but I went with medium because I was used to my very hard waterway nemo. The fin was delivered within 2 weeks and the footpockets are precisely as ordered - my foot size plus room for a 5mil sock. (though I have to be very precise about putting the fin on to get the sock aligned properly) Its the only hyperfin style fin I've used but it is aweseome. There was a break in period for my feet - as there was for the Nemo - but I am now up to 3 hours recreational diving with this fin.

I've not tried the waterway glide but if its put together anything like the Nemo it should be excellent.

I was just thinking, maybe we should have a writing contest to create a story that goes with the picture at the start of this thread.

The fin in the photos is from hyperfins.ru, i've had this conversation a few times with Stig and Henning in the photos, I keep forgetting the details though.

Those fins are a few years old and Hyperfins don't make that design anymore. Many many of the people who have their current design (me included) have a few issues with them. For me it's fin bend, though unlike Will has said earlier, the footpocket's on mine were ok. My (rough) rule of thumb is that initially if it hurts after 10 minutes then it's the right size. Your feet will adjust in good time.

Stig et al. had all sorts of problems getting those particular fins, these days they tend to send them out a bit quicker and use couriers but the big issue is that pack them very poorly, ie in an old sheet or in some cardboard. A bit shoddy for a 300-400 euro fin really.

Have a look in the Monofin section of the forums and there is a ton of advice on these fins as well as others, plenty there to confuse the hell out of you and bring tears to the eye when trying to pick one :D

Cheers,
Ben
