Hi all,

brand new to spear fishing.

Currently in Arizona, but will return to Ireland in October.

I was wondering:

1. Where can I find info on spear fishing regulations in Ireland? I have googled, but can't seem to get anywhere.

2. I want to use a Polespear (Hawaiin sling) type. Anyone else use one in Ireland?

Thanks in advance!

Alright P, I've used a polespear at home (its what I started out with) and I personally think its way more craic than a gun. The hunt is more of a challenge but if there are fish around you will get one for the pan. Im deffo getting one again when I can afford it.
You could pick up a quality one while you are in the States, Crist or Gatku are the two that seem to get rave reviews.
I wouldn't bother with a sling, stick a dart into a Pollack on a murkey day and you will probably never see either again.
Good man, I thought I was the only one leaning towards polespears!
