Hello!rofl
I'm new in this forum, I'm writing from Italy (Mantova) and it's a pleasure to be here!
I'll already ask something...
Firstly I'm a freediver for passion, but I'm a recreational scubadiver too. I'd like to buy a dive computer good for this two needs and I'm knowing this models: Suunto Mosquito, D4, Stinger and D6; Mares Nemo Excel and Titanium; Cressi Edy 2.
I know the price differences... Could anybody suggest something to me about these models?:ko

Thank you very much from now!!

I am using the mares nemo (steel version)
for freediving and scuba.
i love it.
it has good freediving features. like the interval alarms.
i set it on beeping every 10 m. so i dont have to look at it while diving...
the scuba functions are also quite good.
there is nothing i miss.
the displaysize is o.k. and very easy to understand.
o.k. it is not air integrated, but i dont need this.

and it doesnt look so bad as a wristwatch ;-)

you will find all the details on Mares - stand for diving

Hello Marc!:friday
Thank you very much for your good opinion about Mares Nemo and its scuba and freediving functions! It will be useful for me to take the right decision (...for the right dive computer...)!:king

Good sea!

As far as i now, the d4 replaces the mosquito.

when i bought my computers, i had a look at the websites of the producers. usually there are demos, where you can see the display and its functions during a dive. i found this very helpful, because you can see if you understand it easily and like it or not.

have a look at these threads:
http://forums.deeperblue.net/freediving-equipment/75545-any-suunto-d4-reviews-report.html

and

http://forums.deeperblue.net/freediving-equipment/73925-new-computers.html

maybe you will find some valuable information there.

Thank you one more time Marc!
I didn't know about the demos of the producers web-sites, it's a clever idea and I'm going to take a look at it and other links! Now my preferences are Suunto and Cressi and I'm searching for a good price!:martial

Bye to the next time!
Luca

After a long search, I'll probably go for the Suunto D4.
The only problem with it that I know about - is the original black strap.
The colorful one is stronger, by the way.
Anyway, have to be treated carefully. Specially on a daily use basis.

D4 is a fine computer and you can't go wrong with it, but in the choice of functions it is rather limited and already outdated, and it the same time quite expensive. There are other computers offering more for less money.

The Aeiris F.10 did not get much popularity due to its children diseases, but they are now fixed, and it is an excellent computer, with a very big choice of features. And the currently tested v2 is even better.

If you need that the computer supports also scuba, then there are also other choices than only the C4. Especially the Swiss made Uwatec Aladin 2G stands out - despite the outstanding quality and reputation of the brand, and despite one of the most wide choice of functions among all the 39 freediving computers currently in the comparative review, and despite no need for an expensive data cable (it uses the standard IrDA infrared interface) it is surprisingly one of the less expensive computers. Its only disadvantage is that for most it is probably not a stylish watch for daily use.

But there are also others - for example the Tusa IQ-900 and IQ-950 offer almost all functions of the F.10, plus scuba functions, and are very well looking for daily use in the same time too.
