Last year I started spearfishing (during my holidays on the island of Cres in Croatia).
I bought my gun down there (in a shop in Mali Losinj), a Pathos 60 and got some fish the next days (smaller sargos, one gilthead and one ray).
Last week a friend of mine drove down with me again (we are both from Austria), both his first speargun in the same shop (an Omer Excalibur 60), we were diving some other places and shot some very good meals with different fishes
And now - I want to buy another gun (Reasons: wider range of possibilities, Backup, possibility of two shots in shortest time).
The question would is: a shorter pneumatic or a longer band gun?
I would think that my pathos gun should be good für holes under rocks etc. but I did not have used it for this, because I tend to do more gliding and aspetto with deeper dives.
As I have thought about it - maybe would a 90 Bandgun be a good idea. Would you take a gun with a railbarrel and an open muzzle?
As I am very satisfied with my Pathos gun - what other brands will provide the same quality (the omer of my friend did cost less money but honestly is also build cheap, eg. a plastic line release, sharp-egded barbs on the spear which would have cut the line in shortest time if we were not rounding the edges al little bit)?
