Which of these fins.

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I would suggest that you go for some specific freediving fins. Difficult to advise as dont know where you are, how deep you will be regularly diving, from a boat etc.

No i don't have a boat i just dive up to 8-meters max close to shore and don't intend to go any deeper since i usually hunt alone!!

For eight meters You can use about any fin, but I'd suggest getting one of the more popular freediving fins. You can find all available information with comparisons and opinions on here looking into the equipment section.

Don't You have a buddy to go hunting with? Apart from making things a lot safer, it's usually also more fun. - I think You might just find a bunch of people in Your area when You give a shout in the spearo network here.

Have fun and safe diving!

The fins you are looking at (the cressi ones, will be fine) also check out 'omersub' as you progress and go deeper or further out you may want to move upto carbon fibre.

How much are you willing to spend on fins? look there are plenty of fins that you can choose from. DO you plan to buy them at you local shop or on-line. Imersion, Mares, Beuchat, Omersub, Cressi have very good fins. IMO I would go with the New Mares Fins Razor or Razor Pro depending on you choice it's an all around good fin.

The mares fins are very soft and i personaly dont like them, i used them for snorkling only some time ago.

Get yourself a nice pair of Cressi Gara 3000, not that expensive and will work well for your 8m dives!

I have the Cressi Reaction Pro for spearfishing in very shallow, rocky, creepy-crawly reefs and they are very good for this "specialized" tool and as snorkelling fins. The thrust is good for such a short fin. But still, it's just a short fin.
Long fins are still much better and safer overall: What if the current becomes stronger? What if you see a fish 12 meters deep while wearing a fair amount of lead ballast? Short fins can be more practical in a limited range of situations, and in facts I use my Reaction Pro only in some situations.
Cressi Gara or Omer Millennium are still a great fin for a cheap price that you can ALWAYS rely on.
And btw Armando: yes, the new Mares Razor do look good!
