Which Suit?

I can't deciding whether to get a Mako 2 piece 5mm, Cressi Tecnica 5mm ( the newer brown one i guess if there is a difference between the old greener one), or a Mares Instinct 5mm. If anybody knows anything about any of these suits please let me know.

Go with the cheap suit as long as it fits according to the size chart these are all open cell suits with farmer John type pants I like high waist pants better Farmer John pushes down to much on my feeble chest. Have fun and dive often

k Thanks, but i just checked and the Mares suit has high waist pants. Are those better, does it make much of a difference from the farmer john style?

You can cut off all farmer john pants and make them high waist. After cutting you take a lighter and quickly melt the nylon outer to the open cell so it does not start tearing apart. If you want you can add a little neoprene glue to where you cut. High waist are so much better than farmer john.

I think it has to do with comfort the farmer john puts more pressure on the chest. I like freedivinmikes modification process. Hope you dive often and have a blast.

Alright, and one more thing. It says that the Mares wetsuit I am looking into has low waist pants, are those going to be any different from the high waist pants?

Are you free diving or spearfishing, deep diving or staying shallow, how much are theses suits you are looking at, what is the average water temp?

I am spearfishing, sometimes shallow waters around 15 feet but sometimes kelp so may be going 50 feet, I can get each one of the suits for around $250, and I am in SoCal so the temp can go from 55 to 75 depending on the season.

Do you have any clue how long it takes for them to make and send out a custom suit?

I do know that they offer an incredible service because it is well documented on this forum - very fast response to Emails & a very quick manufacture time but I guess you would have to mail them?

Well they said that the shipping will be from 2-3 weeks and I have an upcoming trip so I need the suit a bit sooner than that, although they do look great. Any other opinions or suggestions on suits would be much appreciated.
