hey all, im setting out to buy my first monfin. waterway will be the choice since they have a good retailer here and good prices, the question is which one, model1,2 or nemo?
im not a big guy, 1.64 meters, 67 kgs and relativley new to freediving (although ive been spearfishing for some years). i am looking at a monofin for pool training and to hit depths of up to 30-40m max. in open water. i dont think ill be doing competitive freediving anytime soon...
cheers

I don't know the nemo, but model 2 (smaller) long distance (softer) was recommended to me by a few as a beginner monofin.

Nemo vs. M1

I am also interested in this thread.

The Nemo/Freediving Wing seems interesting to me. I hate having fins that make my feet cramp.

The "Freediving Wing":

* Full foot pockets (I would expect them to be more comfortable? but less power? any experience in the readership on this?)

* stablization wing. No idea what this really buys you, but it is a standard feature on the fancy models

* 12-degree angle, supposed to give a better position for traveling vertically (especially up) in water colum.

It is 70 Euros more expensive than the M1

I am in Germany and was looking to order through http://polyorg.de if anybody knows another-firm who has examples near Munich please tell me!

I am willing to blow 100 Euros (price of a M1) on an entry level product that I will eventually sell or give away. I am less willing to do that on anything more expensive than that (freediver wing 170 Euro). More expensive than that and I can fly down to a diving location for the weekend.

I am looking for something to further train stomach muscles and to play around with more than really deep. I love dolphin kick (used to race butterfly) and I tend to use it while returning from freediving, especially if I am having contractions, I find it helps relax my diaphram.

If I like my first mono and don't find traveling with it too much of a pain, I am sure I will buy another fancier one in a few years.

I have tried a believe an M1, Sprint (hard) and it was a lot of fun, but made my feet cramp very quickly (It was definetly at least 1 size too small)
