Why do the recipes posted dissappear?

I would like to know why recipes posted here disappear?
I posted a recipe for Indian style Pollock , I believe it was the first recipe posted on here.
I cannot see it now and just wonder if it is worthwhile posting more if they simply disappear after a time.
I know threads have to be kept fresh but coming into a NH winter many people won't be using recipes until the summer again.
