Yes, after Nordic Deep there will be another cold and dark water challenge this year.

This competition will be in Wildschütz close to Leipzig, Germany. If you find a cheap way of traveling to Berlin, there will be a lot of Berliners going down there.

There will be two competition dives, one on Saturday afternoon and one on Sunday morning. At every dive you can choose your discipline (CWT/CNF/FIM). Announcement for the second dive will be after the first is done.

It is a national with guests and AIDA ranking.

Accommodation is possible in a guesthouse (limited rooms available so book quick) or camping on the ground of the local dive school.

Fee is 40 € including both competition dives. Additional cost are 5 € per day for the dive center and accommodation (that, I am negotiating right now).

Btw, we call this lake The Big Black (Le Grand Noir). So wearing a torch on your mask will be mandetory for all divers. Those who do not have such a headlight will be given one by the organizer.

Judges will be Christoph Leschinski and Martin Müller.

For registration please send an email to martin_gk@imail.de. Last registration is the 26th of August.

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me or just post here.

Regards
Martin

In the Netherlands we are very used to diving with torches (similar conditions) but I would check this one, since it says waterproof to 10 meters !!!

p.s. I have to check some things , but maybe I can make time to come. looks like lot of fun (brrrr)

Glenn,

that sounds great! And yes, I expect a lot of fun. (Had a look at the potencial prices today,... LOL)

I know about the 10m thingy but several of these torches have been down to 40 to 60 m now for more then one time. So I trust them. Btw, they are also really good for night dives in the mediteranian sea. One would'nt believe what they can do in clear water!!!

Drop me a line when you know more about your time scheduel.

Best
Martin

Glenn,

I cant wait to see you light in action... ;)

Here is a link to the location: [ame=http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Wildsch%C3%BCtz+Mockrehna,+Torgau-Oschatz,+Saxony,+Germany&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=34.945679,82.265625&ie=UTF8&cd=1&mpnum=0&ll=51.466253,12.854176&spn=0.006711,0.020084&z=16&om=1]Wildschütz Mockrehna, Torgau-Oschatz, Saxony, Germany - Google Maps[/ame]

The vilage is a quiet, country side place but the dive center has all we nee. Except for public transport. So you would need to find your way there by car or join us in Berlin.
