Here is a video with some footage I've put together from a few dives during winter 2016. All the dives took place in kefalonia.
There is no big catch, just some mullets and seabasses!!!
Play it loud...
enjoy the soundtrack (Turbonegro Rocks!!!)...

hi vaggelakis,
I am planning a trip to Kefalonia this September. Never been there so any tips are welcome.
If there are places in the area forbidden for spearfishig, please advise.

Excellent video - loved it :) . Good bass & mullet action and some real interesting shallow water shots - it looked dangerously shallow in some shots (gnarly rocks & gushes of water) - very fishy :) Makes me want to dive now! Interesting roller gun(s).

A colleague just got back from holiday on Kefalonia, had a great time. Every time I hear "Kefalonia" I think of "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" and John Hurt & Nicolas Cage in the film.

Awesome - love Kefalonia! For snorkelling I prefer the rocky coastlines of the East Coast. The sides of the beach at Antisamos, the small coves on the Sami - Agia Efimia.
Kefalonia is a large island and so different to most others mainly because most of the towns and villages were totally destroyed in the 1953 earthquake. This means that apart from a couple of villages and Fiscardo in the North, all buildings are post 1953 and built to withstand quakes.
It is worth getting to Argostoli at least once to see the giant turtles swimming in the harbour around the fishing boats each morning.
Mounda beach (a short kefalonia taxi ride from Skala) is where the loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in the sand.
The monastery of St Gerasimos (closed afternoons) is worth seeing as is the nearby ruined village of Old Valsamata. You are also then not far from the good road up to the summit of Mount Ainos, the highest point of the island.
Melissani and Drogerati caves are worth a visit and will probably be on an island coach tour.
