Hey folks, kinda quiet on this forum lately.

A buddy of mine at work told me of a dam he said would be awesome spear fishing. He said it's within 45mins of Milwaukee. He says it's deep and crystal clear. I was thinking it's near Sheboygan or something, but now I can't remember the name and I just saw a website that says there's over 1000 dams in Wisconsin... who knew?!

Any ideas which one it could be?

You guys every do dams? thoughts? advice? stories?

I know the laws say you have to be 200' from a dam. but the Lake Part might be nice to check out.

We dive by dams around here, but only on the output side. We do one dive that is on the in side of the dam, but I refuse to go and dont condone it. Winks and Waldo arnt the brightest. Its do able though.

Fleshy- even though it's "do able" I'm still pretty sure it's illegal. I sure about the 200' rule. That is with a speargun in hand. You can dive there, just can't have a speargun. And your right- I don't see it as being too safe.

thanks guys - didn't read that one!... or actually I probably did, and didn't 'catch' it...

so I take it from your comments you haven't done a dam 'area' Scott? 200' isn't that far away, really... less than a football field.

I think they just want you to stay away with your sharp object, probably more for your safety.
don't want you to end up like this guy - :crutch:t

I have gone in Lawrence Lake in Marquette CO which is Dam'd- just kept my distance. Not that the local cops would know any better.

This is too true. Weve had to stop fishing in a couple areas because we found out on our own that they are classified as "trout lakes", but weve been stopped and questioned by wardens there, and nothings ever happened. We dont fish there anymore. Now there's about three dams on the plover river that we wont be diving anymore either. :head
