wishbones - metal Vs dyneema

metal wishbones are lounder and more expensive. they last longer.
Dynema wishbones are cheap and quiet. but wear down faster then metal.
I have never seen any difference in safety, breakage, or accuracy with propper maintenance.
I use Dyneema when possible.

Riffe euro is a woody, right? If so, take care cause metal wishbones and wooden guns don't mix: the metal wishbone could scratch or "shave" the wood when you shoot.
Now of course it's the destiny of all our dive gear to get scratched soon or late, but however, wood is so precious....

sbooker, piece of advise: DONT change to metal wishbone. They are louder, they will scratch the teak wood with every shot, and if they accidentally snap off the notches, they will cost you some piece of skin (and possibly a nail too) off your fingers...
In term of performance, as amphibious said, I don't think there is any difference. I had articulated metal wishbone on one of my guns, and now when I tried the dyneema on my riffe euro, I would never go back to wishbones.
As for durability, if they are used with proper shaft (that is one with smooth notches), they can last up to one year (average of 1dive/week), and replacing a worn dyneema is a piece of cake !

So true! But you never know which finger you will loose. In facts I know many spearos who use the "thumb up" actually to mean "F...k off", and other spearos who lift their third finger to say "all right!"...rofl
