wood oiling and maintenance? need help...

Ok ive had my Riffe padauk for about 7-8 months now and i have been trying to find out how to maintain the wood. Riffe reccomends just using the Riffe 2 part teak oil. But i cant find any over here and online the postage is very expensive

. I presume theres some sort of wood oil i can use for it that is available from a local hardware shop. bit being the incompitent woodworker i am

i dont have a clue what to use, i would ask at the shop but the people there arent exactly helpful at all.... if anyone could reccomend what oil i should use for it and maybe how i should use it (if its different than using the riffe oil), how often i should use it etc id be very very grateful. thanks

I rub boiled linseed oil onto my Riffe every now and again.

There is probably some purist reason not to do that, but I don't care as it looks fine and boiled linseed is cheap and easy to get from a paint or hardware shop.

thanks, il probably do that. otherwise the lady at the hardware shop recommended a light coating of sprayon varnish any takes on that?
