I need to share my surprising awesome results from my last nights training session during my level 1 AA course! 
We started with some relaxation techniques in the classroom which was nothing new to me, then we hit the shallow pool for some statics.
First session went (I thought) pretty poorly, 2 min 40 sec. My mind was panicking me to surface towards the end. Very uneasy feeling but as soon as I surfaced I realized I was fine.
Second time I did a 2.5 minute breathe up after my partners turn. Went well, had the same panicky feeling towards the end. Came up and I was told I did 3 min 40 sec. New PB! Beat the old by 10 seconds, 40 seconds if only counting in water statics.
Ok, so now I'd done two good statics and some time for a third. Decided, what the hell, I'll go for a new best. So I did a third trial but took my time with a breathe up. No set time limit, just went when I was ready. This time I had to fight the panicky, need to breathe feeling for probably 1.5 minutes, very annoying and not quite sure what's causing it. But as soon as I decided to come up I still felt very good even after a 4 min 10 sec static. Probably could have done a bit longer but I'm not gonna push it.
So that's the story of my new personal best. A whole 30 seconds longer than my previous one! I'm psyched to try my PB's for DYN DNF and CWT now!
