Deeperblue Friends,

A promotional clip of the 4th AIDA World Freediving Championships is available at the following link:

http://www.aidaworlds2004.com/Worlds_trailer.mov

The Canadian Assocation of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA), in partnership with Nuytco Research Ltd, maker of the worlds most innovative deep water submersible the 'Newtsuit' and Amphibico Inc, worlds foremost authority in underwater housing technology, will be joining forces to offer 5 in-water hardwired cameras to surface TV monitors in conjunction with the worlds most innovative deep water lighting system. Both of these innovations will allow immediate and real time viewing of the competition performances as they happen.

In addition, Nuytco Research Ltd of North Vancouver is providing two Aquarius class submersibles to attending media and VIP's for tours of the competition site where depths upwards of 130m/426' can be reached. These tours will be scheduled August 5th - 8th during constant ballast official training and competition days.

Soon we'll be announcing spectator options for those wishing to attend the competition. Stay posted to www.aidaworlds2004.com for more information.

Sincerely,

1) Will there be some internet links to some of the cameras?

2) That's a great idea to have submersibles near the competition site!! who said that freediving is not a spectator sport? :D

I wodner how the spectators will react when the captian will tell them they are cruising at 80meter depth, and it's all dark otuside, and they see some guy in a monofin passing by them on the way down...
EDIT: and that guy doesn't even wear a suit!

Sounds like it's going to be a spectacular event!

Michael,

Unfortunately we don't have the budget to do internet links to any of the cameras. However, each day we'll try to edit a 2-3min clip of the days events and stream it via our the worlds website. Same as we did with the PFD while in Cayman this past March.

Enjoy,

It's alright Kirk, I was just dreaming out loud, I didn't exepect it to come true. :)
The Cayman PFD coverage was indeed a good one.
