Hello,

Just curious to know if there is any reputable body overseeing freshwater spearfishing records. From my research on the web, I can really only find a couple of different governing bodies:

IBSRC: IBSRC Spearfishing records home page (Seems to be blue-water only)
IUSA: International Underwater Spearfishing Association (Some freshwater records, but not that comprehensive)

IUSA does maintain a record for Walleye...Also interested in records for Northern Pike, all species of trout, etc. - North American (Canadian) game fish species.

There is the USOA North American Spearfishing Records, but they seem quite out-dated and piece-mealed together. Some of the weights for certain species seem awfully low. Maybe this is the only group at a starting point, I don't know.

Thanks for any direction.

IUSA will consider all freshwater species as long as it a large size for that species. Take a read through their rules.
