Commentary Would Setting Up A ‘Global Fund’ Help Reduce Marine Plastic Pollution?

With plastic pollution in the world's oceans getting more and more dire with each passing year, some economic researchers are wondering whether it would be worth setting up some kind of "global fund" to help developing countries pay the cost of improving their waste management systems.

In some cases i think the clean up needs to be a two phase system as the plastic is that tightly packed in some places in the ocean that trawler vessels could be commissioned to scoop the material up in a net and then take it ashore to be then taken to a recycling plant this way it could cleaned up faster and limit the environmental impact.
