So here it is.....my first attempt at Polespearing Wahoo.......

43.75 LB, 37 LB, and 24LB..........

Manny Puig with a 6' JBL Extension and a skinny slip tip.

First two were stoned, third fish nearly pulled me into the transom and took off for some 100-200 meters......

Many thanks to Cap'n James and Big Jim West aboard Bermuda's best Charter boat, ''WOUND UP''

Deepest respect! You look a bit like Manny himself, only better.

But wow that is incredible. I whish I could buy that polespear over here in Europe.

wow thats pretty damn impressive ive heard alot of talk of attempts but this is the first ive seen it accomplished congrats

Neil,

Thats a nice catch and i like the way you catch those lovly fishs even i am not sure how did you catch them using this stick.:martial

The fish were chummed up behind a sportfishing boat and I dropped in off the stern......The fish were slightly wary but were not ''scared'', the first two were
seemingly watching me as they approached the chum and as I was motionless apart from pivoting the spear, I was able to get good spine shots and ''stone''
them both. The third fish was a moving target about 15 feet below the surface. Remember I was using a spear about 13' long so the tip was at least 7' from my hand, and the fish 2-3 feet beyond that .......We had another one yesterday AND a near miss with a Yellowfin Tuna, so this summer should see some interesting developments!
