... I found this information about a World Record Attempt (?):
On May 12 William Trubridge will try to break the world record in the Unassisted Constant Weight discipline. Freediving without fins, William will attempt to swim past the existing record of 80 meters (262 feet) set by the Czechoslovakian Martin Stepanek in March 2005.
The record attempt will take place in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, at the Columbia Ventaglio resort. The Apnea Academy Egypt is organising the event, and 17 times world record holder Umberto Pelizzari will be present, acting as safety support freediver.

That's at the same place as the world record week as Carlos Coste's attempts. Good luck to both!

Cool I realise I willbe there !! I am at the same resort for Umberto's course . Coooool

Glenn, don't tell me you didn't know that you are going to watch the record attempts prior to the course? you, the guy who never misses a freediving news item! :t

Will has already broken the 80m CNF record in practice, as well as done something like 60 dives over 75m... he has recently had fish poisoning and is trying to recover in time for the attempt....

Best of luck to him.

Hi Jorg,

I am ashamed
I only knew about Carlos beeing there , but I must admit I missed this.
I will have to better my life and spend 24 hrs instead of the usual 15 hours per day on the internet :t

You were only 15 hours a day on the internet? Well that explains it all...

60 dives over 75, wow that's already amazing!!!
