I was today in a sports supermarket ; I looked at different goggles because mine begin to be a bit worn...

I found an amazing pair of goggles : the XP Seal (Aquasphere) ; I had already bought the large Seal goggles some years ago but had stopped using them because water was penetrating... By the way I do not quite understand the interest of these normal large Seal goggles... too large to be hydrodynamic... not taking the nose...

the XP Seal are smaller than the "traditional" Seals, but the junctions onto the face are very comfortable since they apply not onyo the eyes...

These XP have an amazing suction effect : they nearly pulled out my eyes in the store !

Amazingly enough they are cheaper (18 €) than the "normal" Seals (22 €) ;

amusing detail : there is a 2 year warranty but only valid in Italy ! (Aquasphere is an Italian brand...)

I strongly envisage to buy them and will train filling them with water...

then I will buy a freediving nose-clip...

I experienced the same effect and attribute it to a lack of proper fit. It seemingly was constructed for very narrow faces and does not seal properly if I do not press it against my face, creating the suction effect you mentioned.
This IMHO makes them useless for building a pipemask :waterwork ...

???? I am surprised.... If there is a suction effect, it means that it fits very well, doesn't it ?

Isn't it the main criterium for buying goggles or a mask : the suction effect ???

The suction effect is a sign that it is working. The Seal and the Seal XP were not designed for deep diving, they are intended to form a VERY tight seal around the eyes to keep water out. The Seal XP does not seal quite as well as the regular Seal, but does work much better if you have a smaller face.
