I got this yellowtail during the Matie Open (Stellenbosch University underwater club) 3 weeks ago. It weighed in at 16.67kg.
I shot it with a 1.15m RA railgun with a immersion handel and reel in about 10m of water. I had quite a fight keeping it off the bottom.

Unfortunately for me these competitions are about skill and not luck so I ended up in 28th position. You basically get points for each species of fish and even though it was the biggest fish of the day, it was my only one.:head

Plenty of whites all day long. The guys on our boat got chased 3 times.
I did not see any sharks while in the water, I do not know if it is because I was lucky or unlucky.

Not much to tell about the fish. I just saw it swim right past me. I started giving chase with not much hope, and then it just turned around and swam straight towards me. It did put up quite a fight though, and the line from my reel was all over the show. I was just hoping no sharks would pass by. I was so happy when I got it, I did not even kill it properly, just gave it to the guy on the boat and got out myself.

The Pioneer. But I also spotted some big ones at the Kromm, but they never even came close.
