As the title says, this is yet another "hello" thread. My name is Jim and I'm SCUBA certified as of several years ago, but haven't been in a long time. Now I'm very interested in free diving, as it seems more readily available to me by my time and financial budgets as a current nursing student! It also seems, well, much more free than SCUBA diving! So I'm excited to start learning and doing it!

Hi Jim, welcome to DB.

I grew up in Mobile, just up the road from you, and loved diving the rigs straight south of you. I bet you could find some scuba charters that would let you go along for a small fee. Just watch out for overhead rig beams. You can really get nailed if much of a sea is running.
