Hi!
Who is the youngest competitior at the World Championships in Aarhus? I mean both, girls and boys?
How the youngest?

Another question?
Who is the youngest (professional) breathholder you know? I know a girl who is 15yo who can hold her breath for nearly 4minutes? How can do more?

I´m looking forward to your answers.

Best wishes

You have to be 18 to compete - so no younger than that - but I don't know if there are any 18 year olds there

yep there is one! 18 years old and 200+m dynamic, incredible, serious force to be reckoned with as his technique improves we may see some world records from him.

Sounds like Rune Hallum Sorensen, local from Aarhus. His father's smile after Rune's 206 meters and finals qualification was priceless.

As I remember at least the AIDA rules, it's possible to compete at 16 and 17, but with written concent from parent or guardian. Don't know if it's the same with CMAS.

Elisabeth Kristoffersen`s little brother Eivind is only 17. He needed a written consent from his parents. BTW he did 100 DYN and more than 5 min static. He will be a dangerous man in the future:)

Fanny Schagatay of the Swedish team is only 16 and she competed in DNF. She is the daughter of Erika the scientist who ran around measuring the saturation and lactate levels in the competitors blood.

Yes, there were indeed some very young competitors. But another one deserves mentioning too - Veronika Szalontayová from the Slovak team. Although she was not the youngest as of physical age, she was definitely of the youngest "age in service" - she started with freediving as an absolute beginner just a single month before the WC. She pulled a 5:45 statics in the B-finales, and finished 10th.

Now this is worth mentioning in this thread:

Samo Jeranko from Slovenia - 19 years of age, former swimer, started training apnea just 8 month before WC, 205m DYN, 11th in the world, 158m DNF, disqualified because of something called PBMM... :) I think a name worth remembering...

BTW Because Off Topic to "Youngest...in World Champs" title
could post from nro 10 be moved to new thread
with a new Title e.g.:
AIDA's rules for PBMM, LMC and SP

If it's to site moderators technically possible to cut a thread...
