Hello,
Three days ago I purchased a new spear gun (of a well known make & model) from a supplier here in the UK.
Having driven for two hours to a favourite mark yesterday with two other dive buddies, I was looking forward to trying the 'new toy' out.
Got into the water, pulled back the rubber and.......bang!
The plastic housing on the end of the rubber band (male/female thread connection) split, smacking me to the side of the face, luckily just leaving a small bruise, but could have been worse.
I was able to borrow a spare gun, so the day was'nt completely ruined, but I was disappointed, and somewhat annoyed to say the least.
This morning, I contacted the shop and they agreed to post a replacement part free of charge (so far so good), but when I mentioned that I would like to make contact with the maker's of this gun to make them aware that there could possibly be a fault with a certain batch/shipment and that there product had caused me a minor injury perhaps because of a lack of quality control, the shop owner suggested that it was 'just one of those things' and did'nt see any point in persuing the matter.
I feel a bit agreived about this (not to mention his attitude).
What are you thoughts and advice please.
