Dear Youthful Newbie,

I have a family of freedivers. The girls started when they were about your age. Based on their learning curve, I would say you're off to a good start. A very good start. Tips: Read---this forum and freediving books. Sounds like you'll be *down* to 25 meters in very short order. I would strongly advise that you begin that part of your training under the watchful eye of a more experienced and, ahem, older freediver for practical tips, coaching and safety.

Warmest regards, Charles Engles

Hello Donncha!

I also started to train freediving serious when I was 12 years old.
1.20-1.30 is normal or good for your age.
I actually did a research in my school about how long my friends could hold their breath, very fun, you should try it!
Not everyone could do over 1 minute but after I gave them some advise some off them could do around 1.20-1.30. One of my friends did 2 minutes, my PB was around 2.30.

Keep training but you should always have someone watching you.
If you search on the Internet after some tips on breath holding I am sure on that you could reach 2 minutes very soon! =)
