Hi all,

I am happy to have found this forum. As the title says, I am 32 years old and I have never thought of apnea before. I decided to look more into apnea a few weeks ago when I met someone who was really impressed that I could stay 4min under water with no type of preparation or training. That's how I found this forum. I am looking forward to learn tips, tricks and how this commmunity works.

I guess my main question is: Is there hope/potential for me to become really good at this sport? Is age a problem? I stopped smoking 2 years ago, but I vape daily like a madman.
Is the fact that I can stay in apnea for 4 minutes without any proper training or preparation an indication that if I put in the effort I could become something not half bad in the world of static apnea? Or is this quite common and my friend just has no idea what he is on about?

Any info you have for me is much appreciated!

Hey Kelnel,

While I am not a pro, I think it's safe to say that 4 min static sounds really good comsidering no training. Probably you're doing a bunch of things intuitively right.

Join a local club, train under safe conditions and see where you can push it!
Sure you'll be good at it starting at 4 min!

Cheerio,
Mo
