oh yeah- I forgot about that- my OTHER ice fin broke today. Just trying to swim back to the boat. but luckily this time it was just the blade- the foot pocket is still good. I'll have to send that back to OMER. dotey's fins did get me through the rest of the day as he was chill'n in the boat 'playing' captain.

Pics from dotey's camera:

1st- my broken fin, 2nd - coming in with some carp, 3rd- on my way down to 45 feet.

I WAS SAILING / look out for that rock thats not a no wake sign LOL :friday i just looked really cool looking like i was the one driving the boat LOL you guys did a great job killing some carp i did get like inches from grabing a big big cat but he sliped out of my hands :martial maybe next time that thing could have fed the whole town. you guys need to go noodling with me or hoging grabbing what ever you call it i used to do it alot back in my hick town

Hey Whopperhead...I must've only got 8 "rough" fish!!! :vangry

Only two carp (Buffallo's) slipped outta the raft when we were pulling it too fast! So you DID beat me today...:blackeye

Unless we count the one that you got that looked like a big brown blimp at an airshow! You know the one "streaming" a trail of red smoke - (blood!) :t

If we split the point for that one then we're even! Afterall...I did slow 'em down for ya! rofl

Good day...We coulda killed alot more carp...I was just kinda pokin' at the Buff's since they tend to fight alot better and get much bigger usually. Fun wrasslin' with consistant 15 - 30 pound fish!!!

I can't figure out why Dotey hardly saw any carp?...Might've stayed out too deep...I saw a few big Catfish out there too! What was weird is that (the common carp) they kept swimming up beihind me and passing me!!?? Just begging to be shot!!! But I pretty much stuck with the Buff's and the Crappie's once we found 'em.

BTW...Ended up with a nice bunch of crappie fillet's...Yum!

I love that pick of Dotey from under the water...That's what he'd look like if he was pumping iron and taking "roids"!!!

LOL thats what i thought of the pic too :martial i dont know why i didnt see any either but i know the one i had on my stringer that bent it all to heck and got off must have been a beast i mean come on that stringer is metal and he bent it like a straw LOL all well ill fix it and get back into the game i did fix my 3 mil suit that i just got had a big hole in it from fighting with a carp last time i was out so all my gear is back up to par and ready to go

Nice to see the Crappies are finally starting to inch in. Big blue gills are still in deeper water. Lot of disappointed looking fisherman on Mendota in May.

Yup...So I hear! The hook & line guys are gettin' in on some bedded Bass though if you check out Lake-Link.com

What's cool is....It does'nt matter if the panfish are hungry or not for us!...we'll feed 'em a long pointy cylinder of STEEL! rofl

The Crappies I harvested Saturday were only 9-11 inches...But man, they have some shoulder's in that lake! Got a pretty nice batch of fillet's off of 7 fish...I'd love to see what a 16 incher would look like outta Mendota! Nice girth on the Crappie's...And yes...They were ALL dark males. The big girl's have yet to show in shallower water's. They're probably suspending in schools at 25-35 feet down adjacent to rocky bay's and or marsh areas still.

Ahem. I did a TON of scouting the past two days - 7 hours in the water. I'm finding all kinds of hidden "hangouts". Marking them on GPS. Taking full advantage of the [abnormally great] water clarity.

A sample (and I mean sample - randomly picked out of the sink) of some fish that got in my way while I was trying to scout out new areas.

i like how you do the slow motion LOL of the HH maybe one of these days i ll get to be a better shot

:) Freakin' awesome....As usual! I had a great time...Can't wait 'til we can get together again...Good luck wherever you guys are this weekend!

Unirdna, if those perch are any decent size... THEN THAT CRAPPIE IS HUGE!!!

Nice video Whop. Only part I didnt like was the second song. It made me sad... "And the Sunnnnn.....will set for youuuuuu." I was sayin to myself, "SWIM AWAY CRAPPIES, SWIM AWAY!" Lol, whopperhead you need to rig your camera to your gun, like jon does. You've gotten better at the duel wielding, but its still funny when you pursue a fish and we all have to hold our breaths because the camera turns down, we hear the shot, and THEN we see the fish rofl!

I've thought about mounting it- but the camera weighs 11lbs. So, I will continue to multi-task. I need to work on keeping the camera on the fish- I think it will help when I get a wide angle lens for it- but That will take some time as that set up will cost me about $600 total.

As far as the song- I really picked it because it was a 'Link' Song and was the right length to finish off the video.

Fleshy, the perch were 10-11" - crappie was a little bigger than 13" - not quite a 14". From 10-14" crappie seem to have a set "shape" - just different sizes. Over 14" they seem to take on a different shape; their backs get really high. I posted a photo of a 15" from last year on a different thread. I will be returning to my "super crappie lake" this July. And Jon, keep your damn mouth shut :). I got no beef showing friends my spots, but I don't want them posted on the internet. :naughty

Can I post naked pictures of your wife instead?rofl

Scott, the whole reason I went with the camera I have now was to be able to mount it to my speargun- my last camera was almost 3 times as big. I miss some of the performance features of my last rig, like the dome port lens, but my new(ish) one is so small it doesn't get in the way.

For $600 you could get yourself a small camera and housing and tell your wife it's hers- you just need to borrow it. ;)

Jon

I'm gonna hire a Private Investigator to follow Unirdna around...roflYou said July right?

Anyone know of any freediving P.I.'s....:t

Oh man...When you see them giant "hump backed" thick crappie's sometimes you almost have to look twice! More than once I blew my chance at a trophy sized fish because I was thinking to myself...."No, that can't be a ________! Oh my gosh! It is!" And there he wen't...Into the weeds or just zipped outta there like in a flash! :head:head:head

I love Scott's video's! Alway appropriate music too! :) The "Slo 'Mo" shots are so cool too!

Agreed bg; Scott great vid! Always enjoy those, and your editing gets better every time. I used to have your fire for video. Seems like I get lazier each year (or perhaps just less willing to set my gun down for 2 min).

Jon, I don't care what you post so long as it isn't a lake map. Let's see....10:45 - you're probably just finishing up filleting those crappies eh?

Biggest crappie I ever shot was 14", with the head cut off. Ive got a secret lake too. Average crappie is about 9". Thats where those newbies shot those crappies.
