Hello people, I would like to put an idea in your head. In the spring of 2002, probably in March, there will be a group of local scuba divers who will do what they do anually at that time...cut a hole in the lake and go under it. Last year I went freediving under ice, and it was cool. Very cool. F###ing cold, actually! But it was great fun, and I love to watch the response I get from people when I tell them I did it.
The site is Lake Minnewanka in the Rocky Mountains, near Banff, Alberta. In the winter, the visibility is easily 30 metres, and the hole will be cut over top of an older dam sight, which is at 15 to 25 metres deep. There is a 2 story building that can be penetrated, and it is a good dive(for a lake).
So think about it if it's accessible for you, and you want to remember what your "manhood" looked like when you were 6 years old! (I said it was COLD);) I'll bring the subject up again next year as the date gets closer.
Cheers,
Erik Y.
