My fiance, Maria, and myself decided to go diving on one of our favorite sites in a small inland lake named Portage Lake in Onekama MI. Last year we stumbled upon a shipwreck, "The Abbie", that lays on her Port side buried 70 percent in sediment, sand, and silt. This is a place for meeting in the masses of large pan and game fish alike. Needless to say, the spot also makes for some fairly good spearfishing, either way it was a beautiful day.

Very nice! Wreck looks cool. I'd love to search for artifacts. When did it go down?

It is actually a fairly new wreck, as far as shipwrecks are concerned, she sank in November of 1905 hauling a load of bark. I was thinking the same about the artifacts to access the ship itself the sand would have to be excavated .

correction after a little more research, and a little less taking someones word to be right, ive found that this is the tugboat donned the "Lewis Wallace," which sank in September of 1893,
