A little surgery to start the new year

All,

I haven't been very active here recently and wanted to post why.

On the 7th January I ended up in hospital via the emergency room due to a ruptured appendix. I had emergency surgery to remove my appendix and 10cm of my bowel that had been serious damaged by the rupture. In speaking with the doctors I was very lucky as ruptured appendices have a very high mortality rate.

I spent 2 weeks in hospital and ended up picking up pneumonia as little extra present before being discharged last week. I'm recovering at home and will be generally out of action for the next few weeks as I slowly recover.

I'll end up with 2 scars around 7 - 8 inches (18 - 20 cm) long on my abdomen when I fully heal.

It's been a ride and a half this year so far but i'm on the mend and look forward to being back to full fitness and health ASAP!

Scars are sexy on a man.
But if you don't like them (sort of they make your belly like chewed by a coyote) you can always conceal them under a tattoo..

Best wishes on the recovery! I let bronchitis get away from me a few years ago (cough, cough--No dear I don't need to see the Doc) :head and got pneumonia. Sucks. Plus being sliced and diced! Hang in there. :blackeye :friday

So - 6 weeks after surgery and feeling a lot better. Starting to track how my scars are doing now so thought i'd share

Ouch, that must have hurt. Make sure all is healed before engaging in risk sports again, you know, drinking, sleeping, etc.
