Yes, yelling may be needed, but you should not forget explaining not only what's wrong, but also why it is so, and how to do it properly, or refer to resources explaining it in details (like Jon did). Only yelling, without understanding the reasons, and without explaining anything, simply looks like someone trying to put himself above others. Of course, you have the full right for doing such thing - (I assume) you certainly are far more experienced, better trained and equipped, but still that attitude is not helpful, and will barely help someone diving in the conditions like Vali does. I know you had good intentions, so basically it is no big problem. I am just trying to move the discussion in the direction that Vali understands the security is extremely important and risks extremely high in cave diving, and what he can do to improve it (even if he cannot take the proper training), and not that we are just a band of elitists mocking him for poorer equipment and "unstylish" look.
i'm sorry that it came to this...
2 years ago a team of 2 divers [divemasters] from hungary died in this cave...
i saw the specific place....they both died in the most stupid way....althought the rules say that in no circumstances the one will not walk with fins in his foot, the one disobey that rule....the foot colide with the stones and brake....the man drown in a 1 meter depth water.....his mate died from heart atack few minutes later....
may them rest in peace!!
but may us learn from theyr mistake...
i am not a deviant person....in 39 years of life i've seen good and bad things to....
but i've learned a lesson....a life was given for the challenge within....
i dived in isverna cave 3 days....and there was the days of my life...i can tell u that....
you may yelled at me....i'm not upset at all....i take from your words what's benefit....

The guys from GESS are well trained in both cave diving and exploration and have close to 20 years experience. The founder of this society is Cristian Lascu who is considered to be the best cave photographer in the world and the discoverer of a cave with unique lifeforms in Dobrogea area (close to the Black Sea). So Vali was in good hands when doing this.
