I have been waking up with abdominal pains at night since I came home from Grand Cayman Comp Deja Blue III 4 weeks ago. It happens severely two to three times a week, sometimes many nights in a row and sometimes one night than not for a few nights.
I have been under alot of stress since I got back so that may be related too. It feels like the kind of pain I get in the lower abdomin (below my belly button) that I have gotten from getting food poisoning. When this happens, and to me it happens only1 day every 2 or 3 years, I get intense pain like I have now, except there is alot of belching and burping and it slowly gets worse maybe 3-6 hours after I ate the bad food and then goes away. I have never had abdominal pain from food poisoning two night in a row, especially when I don't feel sick or any pain during the day.
The reason I think it may be from packing, and maybe air getting "stuck" down in my stomach then somehow "pushed" into my lower intestine and then causing pain at night is because I haven't have any pain at all for 5-6 days and haven't been to the pool either, and then yesterday I went to the pool and tonight I had the abdominal pain again so think maybe is connection.
I was training for dynamic apnea in the pool for the comp so set up my weights so I would pack 20-25 times when practicing dynamics. I haven't changed my weights back so have been still packing like this at the pool when I swim, not because I normally pack like that, just because my neck weight is set at 9 lbs so if I don't pack I will sink too much.
Normally when I do pool train in dynamics I don't pack or pack maybe 5 times only.
This time I packed 20-25 times for dynamic practice every time I went to pool to train 2-3 times per week for maybe 3 months before the comp then at the comp (was 19 days) was packing like this for depth and pool dives. I didn't have any pain like this before training or at the comp, only now that I got home.
The other things I can think of is stress or some parasite I got from traveling to Cayman.
Would be great to hear any ideas or anyone who has had similar issues.
For sure is not pain in my chest or pain while breathing. Is steady pain from my abdomin below my belly button, that is constant whether I breathe or not.
I will change weights and not pack at pool for a couple weeks and see if goes away to test this theory anyway.
