Actually, I was only in for 2 days of observation after a car wreck (rolled my pickup on the way home after 5 days of work and 5 hours of sleep) and was fully mobile so the "Pecker Checkers" (Navy slang for the Corpsmen - Navy RNs) didn't have to deal with that. They just had to take blood (da$& ghouls!) and make sure that the IV line was still working in case I fell over dead or something.....

OK, first things first - the Truck incident happened in the middle of Gulf War I and was due to the fact that, from 1000 people that were assigned to my duty station, 800 of them were in the middle of the Saudi desert and the remaining 200 had to keep everything on our side of the worlld operational (Comms) for them, I had 5 hours sleep spread over 5 days. The site I was having problems with was 45 minutes driving time from my office and my office was an hour away from my home. Made it to the office, didn't make it home.... you can figure the rest. I was wearing a seatbelt and watched my tool box sliding along the concrete of I-66 between the Washington Beltway and Centreville where my passanger window was until about 20 seconds previously. No other cars involved and I walked away from the accident. Did about $8K worth of damage to my 2 year old Ford Ranger XLT Supercab :waterwork
