Yeah, bad filling. It didn't really explode, just fell out. It felt that way 'cause the water was cold (Santa Cruz Is. in Feb.), and made the air from my reg just painful!

I known people who get tooth squeeze during diving as they ascend. I see them take out their reg and wiggle the tooth. They said it can be quite painful. The only solution is to have your filling redone

BTW - only the filling fell out, I switched dentists (a diver who happened to be on the boat!)when we got back to the harbor!
NOooo! An underwater growth has tainted important naturally eating squid serpents.
That sounds very unpleasant. Having a tooth filled is bad enough, but for it to pop out and have to be done again...I don't envy you. Glad your new dentist understood the issues though.
